Oh boy. A LOT of us have done this one. Just once, we forget to check those pockets and sure enough, somebody left an ink pen in there and next thing you know the dryer drum is coated in ink and there are ink stains in every piece of clothing coming out of the dryer. This is a bad one. If the ink is baked in, you are pretty much out of luck when it comes to removing it! However, don't panic just yet. We know of plenty of people who have used their dryer for years after a major ink-in-the-dryer accident. And remember... all Touch of Oranges products are guaranteed to perform to your satisfaction or your money back. For ink-in-the-dryer stains, we recommend using Oranges '95 General Purpose Cleaner. For most cleaning chores you would dilute an ounce of Oranges '95 into an entire gallon of water. However, for ink in the dryer, it works best if it is completely undiluted. So start by saturating a clean, white rag with Oranges '95 full strength. Dab the Oranges '95 onto the ink spots in your dryer. If ink transfers onto the rag, you are in luck. You may be able to get most of the ink off, but don't count on 100% removal. Wipe with full-strength O95 until ink no longer transfers onto the rag. If the ink does not come out, it is most likely baked into the enamel of your dryer drum and may not be removeable. At this point you'll want to try baking it all the way in so that it can no longer rub off onto clothing. You'll need a bunch of white rags to do this. Toss a clean rag in the dryer and run at the highest temperature for an hour. Remove and inpspect the rag. If no ink has transferred, you can safely dry clothes again. If ink remains, repeat the entire process with another clean rag until the rag comes out clean. You can also use Oranges '95 all purpose cleaner to pre-spot common stains on your clothes.
